carrypad.com The AC100 is a Tegra2-based smart-book running Android. Here you see the device hacked with a new bootloader and Ubuntu 10.10 RC for ARM.

Trimslice doesn’t have a screen. I’d go for a cotton candy if you want small ARM based systems, much cooler
nvidia one.can i install regular ubuntu now from flash?
I don’t know specifics, but the cpu is the same in both from my knowledge,
the major difference would be ram, the trimslice has a gig while the AC100 has only 512
for the gpu issue are you running the normal ubuntu, or the nvidia provided ubuntu installation?
Thanks anyway but i managed to install 11.10 but no gpu driver and everything is so slow

any idea how fast this is vs ‘trimslice’
not sure if the skype client works on arm, but you can use “Empathy” to chat with your yahoo friends.
windows doesn’t run on arm yet, windows 8 will, but hasn’t been released.
are you trying to extract with linux, mac, or windows? and what program are you using to extract?
you can run anything that has been made for arm (in the case of linux most stuff already works in ARM), so if your preferred compiler works in arm you are good to go.
you could run a lighter window manager which would help with the ram issue. if you get a good SD card (hint: if your in canada you can grab a 16gb card for 20 bucks at the source) it should run smoother than in the demo, it’s too bad the sd reader wasn’t of higher quality.
can you compile a native program on it, thats the point at which it is a ‘proper computer’ in my use of the word.
need Fluxbox on this
Cant extract ubuntu.tar.gz to usb.no such file or directory help help???
Did you try using windows on it?
how to use HSPA USB modem with ac100 ???? i dont want to install ubuntu ((((
can I use skype or yahoo mess, on this os?
I know.
@Wiew yellow worse than green… ubuntu is a perfect “beginner’s linux”, with all the forums you never find yourself in vacuum with non-operational system. and it’s as flexible as any other distro, i stripped it down to the point it would boot in 17 seconds, open gimp in 10 and chromium in 2 seconds (on asus eee 901) before switching to arch linux. security usually depends on user, too.
Can you show how to instal ubuntu ?
Ubuntu is bad linux. Low secured and low pre-installed apps . . .
Better choose SuSE or Fedora linux.
If they used ARM Ubuntu on Tegra 3, 1 Gb RAM, Adoble Flash Player 10.1, all on the SSD; it would beat the crap put of netbooks if everything works……
i searched adobe flash player for ubuntu arm and i do not find nothing
only i found this:
LINUX Eval/Demo v10.2.r157 for wbe page texas instruments
but this page never send the file for normal users only for special developers for big companys
can you send me a your file adobe flash player ubuntu 10,10 or 11.04 arm , please???
thanks
