Great tutorials, BBurton. A lot of new things for me, but I think Unit3D is a great environment to build games. I’m trying to start something up from somewhere, and it seems quite easy and fast to start a game from scratch.
When you mentioned an “asteroid star shooter game” I thought it would be way more Atari Asteroids look and feel, with touch commands.
Anyway, congrats. I will be watching more of your tutorials.
Hm, trying for hours get to work movement but still no luck

There are several questions that need to be answered before you decide on the software. Is it going to be 2D or 3D? What is your target platform: Web, mobile, pc/mac, platform?
As to software, for 3D modeling & texturing, I would recommend Blender & Gimp2, they are open source and will allow you to get going quickly on the art side. On engines, it depends on your target platform, but I’m using Corona by AnscaMobile for 2D and Unity3d.com for 3D projects.
